Empire of the Clouds Poetry- Room 16

Today we used song lyrics that Nerhys shared with us to inspire our poems.  Poetry and songs can be about historical things and events too.

The Port Hills Fires
by Cruz

Smoke devours the clouds.
Endless embers fly through the sky
Climbing the obsolete trees.
Annihilating the hills.

Colours burst from the hilltop
Annihilating the forest floor.
She dances with excitement as she spreads the love.

The morning dew does not show,
'Cause it's scared of the glow.
The sunrise doesn't stand out,
As something else is about.

The Black Mist
By Jonah

The black mist clogging up the skies,
Towering above and into their eyes.
The hot embers melting the cracking oak.
The cloudy chamber of rock and wood,
Sizzling upon the oven.

The firing blast with its stifling steam
Among every last tunnel which smoke can scream.
Drop by drop the flames dance down,
As cheers of joy echo through town.
