Courage - "To stand up against someone."
- "To tell your truth."
- "To trust and have faith."
What interesting thoughts.
We then thought about what jobs or careers are valued and why. We ranked jobs in order of importance and which ones require courage.
We came up with jobs like
doctor
policeman
vet
firefighter
teacher
We were then challenged to join together with another person and reduce our list to the five most important jobs. We had to justify and argue for our choices!
We then had to, as a whole class, make a list of the top five important and brave jobs that we value in New Zealand.
- Inventor (because otherwise nothing could be done!)
- Doctor
- Police
- Firefighter
- Engineer
Finally we were asked to write something down that we knew to definitively be true. This created much debate as Sofia told us that nothing is actually 100% true...
Jeremy told us that people sometimes die in surgery. He has seen this on TV - does that make it true?
Nico told us that the world is not going to get wiped out in 1sec from now.
Max told us that all movies are made with actors. Eli argued that CGI can create characters.
Ezra told us that people can complete a task if they persevere.
Ashley told us that books can inform you. Sofia challenged her by stating that books could be untrue.
Eli told us that tomorrow will come.
Isla told us that everyone dies some day. Could genetics one day change that??
Sophie says that she is a girl with brown eyes whose name is Sophie. She tells us that her mum would never lie to her!
Jack told us that trees grow.
Sofia told us that Sitara has freckles.
We had so much fun thinking this morning.
Definitively true ...... 1 + 1 = 2
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun I loved arguing with everyone
